Police seize drug submarine in southwest Colombia

Police in the southwest of Colombia seized a submarine allegedly belonging to the FARC’s 29th front.

According to the police, the submarine was seized near the Pacific port city of Buenaventura on Friday and had the capacity to traffic seven tons of cocaine to Central America, “probably even to Mexico,” authorities told nes agency EFE.

General Luis Alberto Perez Alvarado told the news agency that the submarine is “probably one of the biggest” drug ships seized by authorities in the past months.

According to Perez Alvarado, the ship is brand new and “has not yet done its first trip.”
