Navy boat fire kills 3, 1 missing

Three Navy personnel died on Monday during a fire on a gunboat in the southwest Colombia department of Putumayo, reports El Espectador.

According to authorities, the fire apparently broke out in the engine room of the boat in the municipality of Puerto Asis, causing an explosion that instantly killed the three while injuring one more and causing the disappearance of another.

The injured marine was taken to a nearby hospital while forces began their search for the missing person. The Navy have started investigations into what exactly caused the fire.
