‘Narco-bounty’ worth $2.4M found in Cali closet

Colombian judicial police have found gold bullion, gold dust, euros, dollars and Colombian pesos worth $2.4 million in an apartment in a gated community in Cali, Colombian media reported Tuesday.

The booty was found in a safe in the neighborhood of Cañaverales, in the southeast of Colombia’s third largest city on the order of the commander of the Cali police General Miguel Angel Bojaca.

At the time of the seizure the apartment was empty but police are looking for three people, identified on video as the permanent inhabitants of the property.

The police said that the haul represents profits from narco-trafficking.
