Basic Instinct and Fatal Attraction star Michael Douglas could bring his talents to playing Colombian president Álvaro Uribe in the upcoming film about Operation Jaque, or Checkmate, reported Caracol Radio.
As his IMDB profile notes, Douglas, who was named a United Nations Messenger for Peace in 1998, “often plays very successful, in control business executives and political figures.”
Perhaps in preparation for the role, Douglas was in attendance for Uribe’s speech before the Council of Foreign Relations earlier this week, reported El Tiempo.
His impressions will remain a mystery for now, however, for the actor, a member of the institution, left immediately after the speech, without giving journalists a chance to speak with him.
