Medellin gets invaded by sound (video)

The city of Medellin gets invaded by a urban culture festival called “Invazion Sonora” or “Sound Invasion” that seeks to take over the city by force with contemporary music in public spaces, all year long.

The Sound Invasion movement has two components, “Sound Invasions” which are small scale musical outbursts throughout the city, as well as the “Grand Invasion Festival” which will bring together all of the “Sound Invasions” musicians for one giant, loud, audio take-over.

The first “Sound Invasion” occured Tuesday, August 23 and featured rock band Los Insectos and Silver&Gold, a dub-reggae fusion band.
