Man falls from 8th floor, fractures middle finger

A construction worker from the northeast of Colombia fell from the eight floor of a building, but miraculously survived, fracturing only his middle finger.

According to news website Terra, the 56-year-old Omar Lopez fell as he reached for his tools while constructing a building in the city of Bucaramanga.

A pile of rubbish reportedly broke his fall and saved his life.

Lopez told reporters that it was God who had saved his life and has given him a second chance.

Despite the alleged celestial help, the construction worker’s day was not all fortune; when he arrived at the hospital he discovered he was not affiliated with the health care provider despite loyally paying his fees.

Lopez’s co-workers decided they would dub their colleague “The Cat.”
