Colombian artist Juanes released the video for his new single, “Yerbatero,” to a worldwide audience on the Internet Wednesday, ending the suspense and easing the anxieties of millions of adoring fans.
The song, which translates to “herbalist” in English, is inspired by “culebreros,” who travel the Antioquian countryside selling herbal remedies.
The video was produced by Brandon Parvini and keeps to the natural themes of the song, with computer generated flowers and vines creating a mystical atmosphere.
A blend of orchids and birds of paradise feature, which are the two favorites of the Paisa pop star.
Juanes released a tantalizing twenty-second taste of “Yerbatero” on his website in May, before unleashing the song in all its glory at the opening of the Soccer World Cup in South Africa.
The Colombian star has been working on his upcoming album in London under the production of the legendary Stephen Lipson, who has worked with Paul McCartney, Annie Lennox and Jeff Beck.
Juanes has won over nineteen Grammys and sold over twelve million albums worldwide.
