‘I do nothing but write’: García Márquez

Colombian novelist and Nobel prize winner Gabriel García Márquez denies
earlier reports that he would never publish a book again. “I do nothing
but write,” he assured newspaper El Tiempo.

According to the newspaper, the Colombian writer’s answers were short and simple.

El Tiempo: Could you answer a few answers for El Tiempo?
Márquez: Call me later, I am writing

The newspaper called the newspaper in his Mexico City studio again later that day. The writer allowed the newspaper only two questions.

El Tiempo: Is it true you will not write again?
Márquez: It is not just not true, the truth is I don’t do anything but write

El Tiempo: But it has been said that you will not publish more books
Márquez:  My job isn’t publishing, it’s writing. I will know when the cakes I am baking are ready to be eaten.

Both Márquez’ biografist and his publisher had said earlier this week the writer would not be publishing again.
