Colombia president Juan Manuel Santos on Tuesday announced that he is completely cured of prostate cancer after undergoing surgery in October of 2012.
After a meeting, Santos shared the good news with the country.
“The doctors said that three months after surgery you have to have a test to confirm if you are effectively cured or not. Fortunately, my exam said that my prostate antigen is at 0, which means that we are completely cured,” said Santos.
Santos went under the knife in October 2012 to remove a tumor on his prostate gland. While the operation was successful, the president needed to undergo tests three months after to ensure there were no traces of cancerous cells remaining.
