Human Rights Watch call for Medellin security

The international NGO expressed “deep concern” for the safety of Human Rights representative Jorge Ceballos and his family in a letter sent to Interior and Justice Minister Fabio Valencia Cossio by José Miguel Vivanco, the organization’s director for the Americas, reported El Espectador.

Last December, the organization denounced death threats against representatives of the Organization of American States who were in the city to oversee the paramilitary demobilization process.

As with that occasion, Human Rights Watch urged an investigation into the source of the death threats.
