Hooligans clash: one dead

One fan of Medellin-based soccer side Atletico Nacional died and two were injured in a violent clash with fans of Independiente Medellin Sunday.

The violence took place on a highway in Caldas, a department south of Antioquia, of which Medellin is the capital.

According to local police, Nacional fans from Caldas, on their way home after Saturday’s game, were spotted by Medellin fans who were on their way home from Cali, where the team had played against America.

The Medellin fans attacked Nacional fans with knives, resulting in the death of one.

Police apprehended both buses with fans to find out who exactly are responsible for the attack.
