Heavy rainfall affects 24,000 in Colombia

This year’s second rainy season killed thirteen people in Colombia so far. 24,000 have been affected by floods and landslides, authorities announced Wednesday.

According to figures of the country’s Interior and Justice Ministry, thirteen people died, three were injured, four are missing and 24,243 are affected by the rainy season that led to emergency situations in 22 of the country’s 32 departments.

Rainy seasons in Colombia normally cause problems, especially around the country’s rivers and the delta in the north of the country.
