Grenade attack kills 2, injures 15 in central Colombia

Two people were killed and at least ten others were injured on Sunday when a grenade exploded at a police checkpoint in the central Colombian city of Villavicencio.

According to several media, one of the two dead victims is the man who allegedly activated the grenade in the downtown area of the capital of Meta.

Newspaper El Tiempo said the man activated the grenade when he was being interrogated after behaving suspiciously.

The explosion killed the suspect, one policemen and injured other policemen and civilians in the area. Later reports said at least 15 people were injured as the downtown area was particularly busy with people celebrating Halloween.
