Goalkeeper and three fans hurt in Colombia soccer violence

Unruly fans of Bogotá’s Millonarios, angered by their squad’s 2-0 loss Saturday night to local rival Santa Fe, threw stones at the winning team’s bus as it left Campin stadium.Glass shards from a broken window cut the face of Santa Fe’s 24-year-old reserve keeper Jose Ramiro Sanchez and struck his eyes, the team doctor said.”Fortunately Jose Ramiro didn’t suffer serious injuries in his eyes. Small shards were removed without problem,” Dr. Carlos Ulloa told reporters.He said none of Sanchez’s injuries required stitches.Also Saturday, three fans were stabbed at Cúcuta’s General Santander stadium during the game as host Cúcuta Deportivo beat Chico, 3-0, the Red Cross said. It said none of the wounds were serious.The incidents follow a March 22 melee in Cali during a match between local rivals Cali and America in which 83 people were injured, including six police officers.
