FARC kidnap 7 in Nariño

A group of seven people were kidnapped by the FARC when the vehicle they were traveling in was stopped by guerrillas in the southwestern department of Nariño, reports Caracol.

Nariño government secretary, Fabio Trujillo, said that authorities had received reports of “miraculous fishing” on the road between the towns of Pasto and Tumaco.

Guerrillas from the FARC’s “Daniel Aldana” column, which is active in the area, are said to be responsible for the kidnapping.

Reports from people traveling on the road describe a group of armed men dressed in camouflage who stopped several vehicles and detained the passengers.

The Colombian army and air force are now searching the surrounding jungle for any sign of the abducted group.
