FARC increasingly executing deserters: Santos

The FARC is increasingly executing members that try deserting the rebel group, Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos said Saturday based on alleged documents found on the computer of the rebels’ slain military leader “Mono Jojoy.”

According to the president, the increased number of executions are the results of the growing number of guerrillas that try to leave the organization.

Santos said guerrilla commander “El Paisa” of the Teofilo Forero mobile column, “Dario Huesitos” of the FARC’s 40th Front and Carlos Antonio Lozado of the Antonio Nari~no Front are the guerrillas who execute most rebels to keep others from deserting.
