‘Current DAS director knew of wiretaps’

The current director of Colombian intelligence agency DAS tries to conceal evidence his agents had been infiltrating the Supreme Court, the arrested spy accused of the infiltration claims.

“He knows everything I did for the DAS. He knew of the actions that were realized to try to cover up what now is public knowledge,” former DAS spy Alba Luz Flores, dubbed “Mata Hari” by Colombian press, told weekly Semana.

DAS director Felipe Muñoz told newspaper El Espectador that his former employee is lying and threatens to sue her for slander.

Muñoz was installed as director of the intelligence agency after it became public that the agency was illegally spying on the Supreme Court, journalists, politicians and human rights organizations. According to him, he has collaborated with the Prosecutor General’s Office to uncover the DAS’ illegal activities.
