Immigration cost hike

Documentation costs for foreigners entering Colombia and Colombians travelling abroad will increase by 3.17 percent beginning January 13, reported newspaper El Tiempo Wednesday.

José Manuel Saenz, deputy director of immigration for the Administrative Department of Security (DAS), said the increase was made based on changes in the consumer price index.

A foreigners identity card will now be $78 and an extension of stay will cost $39. Documentation for Colombians travelling abroad will be raised to $23.
