Copa Libertadores: Chicó win while América lose

Boyacá Chicó began their Copa Libertadores campaign with a very
convincing 0-3 victory at Aurora Cochabamba while América de Cali
crashed to a small defeat at Defensor Sporting.

Antonhy Tapias was of great important to Tunja-based side Chicó. In Bolivia, the midfielder first scored in the 44th minute and added another in the 79th.

The third and final goal came from Juan Mahecha in added time.

América were less successful in Uruguay, where Defensor needed only one goal to earn their first three points of the tournament. The only goal of the match came from Pablo Gaglianone after 37 minutes.

The third Colombian side in the Copa Libertadores, Independiente Medellín, won’t play their first match until February 19th when they travel to face Brazilian giants Sao Paulo.
