Tourism company will promote Colombia at London Olympic Games

A Colombian tourism company plans to promote the benefits of investing and travelling to Colombia at the upcoming Olympic Games in London.

Proexport Colombia will occupy part of London’s National Geographic store from July 19 until August 16 so that visitors can learn about tourism and business opportunities in the Andean country.

Visitors will be able to sample some of the finest Colombia has to offer, with Proexport providing Colombian coffee, flowers and salsa lessons throughout the city during the Summer Olympics, which run from July 27 to August 12.

National Geographic will host a variety of events at its store including book readings, round table discussions, dancing and photo exhibitions.

The United Kingdom is an essential market for Colombia’s tourism industry, comprising the third largest source of tourists in the world after Germany and the United States. According to Portafolio, in 2011 approximately 25,473 tourists from the UK visited Colombia, representing a 23% increase from the previous year.
