Colombian soccer authorities have handed down a 12-month suspension to the Deportes Tolima striker caught taking drugs, Colombian media reported on Monday.
Wilder Medina failed a drug test in April when results showed he had recently smoked cannabis.
After initially claiming he had given up drugs and the positive results were because they remained in his system, Medina later told the press he had a “marijuana addiction.”
The test was the fourth time Medina had tested positive for drug use.
He is now banned from any activities related to soccer for the next year and has to pay a fine of $2,800.
