Colombian sells his kidneys online

A Colombian man put his to kidneys for sale on the Internet, each one at a different price, newspaper El Nuevo Dia reported Monday.

According to the report, Ceus24, an expoanuncio.com user, is selling his two kidneys, one for €50 thousand and the other for €40 thousand. expoanuncio.com is an auction website that requires no registration by its users.

‘I don’t suffer from any illness. I don’t drink nor smoke’, says Ceus24, who is willing to travel anywhere as far as the travel expenses for him and a companion are paid for by the kidney buyer. Ceus24 says he lives in Ibague, Tolima.

This is not the first case of Colombians auctioning their organs on the Internet. El Nuevo Dia says that fifteen human organ ads by Colombians have been reported so far.

Colombian legislation bans trade on human organs or tissues. That is why many think the ads are baits placed by the authorities to catch organ traffickers.
