Colombian orchestra to play for the pope

Colombia’s Batuta orquestra will be playing a small concert for Pope XVI at the Plaza of the Vatican on Wednesday, reported newspaper El Espectador Monday.

On their European tour, which has included visits in both Germany and Italy, the group of under-20 year old musicians has been making their rounds and sounds- visiting cultural events and playing their best.

On Wednesday, September 7, the group will play for the Catholic Pope. The Executive Director of the Batuta Foundation promises that “surely we will play some of the Colombian pieces so that in this continent they will continue to remember Batuta and Colombia as special happenings.”

The last concert of their German-Italian tour will be on September 9 in Rome.
