Colombian national killed in northern Mexico

A Colombian national was confirmed dead in northern Mexico yesterday.

The Colombian Foreign Ministry confirmed that one member of the music group Kombo Kolombia in northern Mexico is a Colombian, reported local media.

Mexican officials found the bodies of several musicians in the northern state of Nuevo Leon Mexico after at least 10 armed gunmen interrupted a private party where the group was playing. The gunmen forced the men into cars, drove them down a dirt road, shot them, and dumped them into a well, the AP reported.

The motive of the killing is still unclear. Party guests are being questioned by Mexican authorities.

The northern Mexico state of Nuevo Leon sits on the border with Texas, and has devolved into a place of rampant violence after becoming the victim of a turf war between drug cartels.
