Colombian foreign minister meets Israeli president

Colombian Foreign Minister Jaime Bermudez on Wednesday met Israeli President Shimon Peres to discuss how the two countries can collaborate in developing new technologies and encouraging entrepreneurship, reported the ministry’s website.

The Colombian minister had a meeting with the Israeli head of state in which the officials talked about ways in which their countries can work together on projects of “innovation and entrepreneurship.”

Israel “is a world power of entrepreneurs, of innovation, and in Colombia too there is an enormous potential,” said Bermudez after the conference.

The Colombian official later met with representatives of various Israeli businesses that specialize in new technologies.

Bermudez also met with his Israeli counterpart, Avigdor Lieberman, to discuss the countries’ “Protection and Promotion of Investment” agreement, which ensures the stability of trade between the two nations.
