Colombia’s coastguard searching for 6-foot alligator

Local residents were terrified after a six-foot alligator was spotted along Colombia’s southern Pacific Coast, reported Diario Del Sur Thursday.

An exhaustive search is now underway for the reptile which was seen by swimmers in the inner bay of Tumaco, in the department of Nariño.

The Tumaco Committee for Disaster Prevention and the Corponariño Coast Guard are heading the search for the creature, which they plan to return it to its natural habitat.
