Colombian authorities seize record amount of false dollars

Colombian authorities say they seized nearly ten million in false dollars in raids in the citIes of Cali and Soacha.

Special units of intelligence agency DAS found the stashes of false bills in factories that produced counterfeit money.

Investigators found 3.8 million in false bills in Cali and 6.2 million in false bills in Soacha. “The latter is the biggest amount ever seized by the anti-falsification unit,” the DAS said in a press release.

The majority of the bills were of 100 dollar bills and surprized the authorities because of their high quality.

One person was arrested in the Cali operation.
