Colombia will organize a flower exhibition in Panama City to promote tourism and boost its flower exports.
The June 5 exhibition is organized by flower growers association Asocolflores and promotion agency Proexport, and will be held in Panama City.
Besides of serving as an attraction for potential tourists, the expose aims to raise awareness and encourage the purchase of Colombian tropical flowers and foliage.
“Panama is a potential market, not only for domestic demand but also for tourist who pass through the Central American country,” said Maria Claudia Lacouture, the president of Proexport, in a press release.
The exhibition will be held for an entire day at the Sheraton Hotel in Panama’s capital. In addition to the exhibition there will also be a floral design workshop, where attendants can learn to make floral arrangements and bouquets with flowers and tropical foliage.
Colombia has on of the world’s largest variety and export of exotic flowers. The country’s 1,500 flower species are said to stand out for their quality, size, color and aroma.
