Colombia is spam central

A spam report revealed that 87% of all emails sent world-wide in October 2009 were spam and Colombia is the eighth largest contributor to this percentage.

According to the report, which was drawn up by technology company Symantec, Colombia has now twice been in this ranking and rose from tenth place to eighth in its production of junk mail.

In Latin America it is Brazil that produces the most spam, some 14% of the world’s total, and then Argentina with 3%, followed by Colombia, reported news station RCN on Friday.
