Colombia is open for investment: Santos

Colombia’s President Juan Manuel Santos told the business community in the United States “Colombia is open for investment” at the start of trading at the New York Stock Exchange Friday

.”We have come to cash in on the free trade agreement, in the best sense of the word,” said the head of state before he headed to breakfast meetings with investment fund executives in the financial capital of the United States.

Santos also said “Colombia is a very attractive country and this means that the money that is invested here translates into employment in Colombia, in economic growth, and this is what we want to promote.”

“I told them the first time I came to the United States there would be an event like this, an event with the Council of the Americas which tries to make the most of the fact that we now have a free trade agreement so that business and investment grow in the two countries,” he head of state added.
