Colombia’s Inspector General began investigations into alleged irregularities in the broadcast of Paul McCartney’s April 19th concert in Bogota.
Local media said the investigation’s goal was to determine if the $400,000 paid by the city of Bogota to concert promoter Canal Capital for the rights to broadcast the ex-Beatles’ concert, were correctly invested.
The Inspector General has asked for copies of the Canal Capital’s contracts as well as details of the deal from city officials.
Paul McCartney is the biggest star to ever play in Colombia. More than 30,000 people attended the concert, guarded by 1,400 troops.
