Colombia’s Commerce, Industry and Tourism Minister met with
his counterpart of the Dominican Republic Sunday to discuss the latter’s
tourism model.
Minister Luis Guillermo Plata said he is interested in the two countries working together and Colombia gaining experience in tourism of the Caribbean country.
The Dominican Republic has done “an excellent job in tourism investment and the development of high-level tourism projects. Colombia is looking for this as well,” Plata stated.
Dominican Minister Francisco Javier Garcia said after the meeting with Plata that “one of the best things of the Dominican Republic to follow has been the development of tourism in the country.”
Tourism is one of the main economic sectors of the Caribbean island.
