Colombia expels Cubans wanted by US

Two Cuban citizens wanted for defrauding the United States healthcare system were expelled from Colombia by intelligence agency DAS W Radio reported Tuesday.

Sisters Clara Guilarte Rodriguez and Caridad Guilarte Rodriguez are accused of defrauding the U.S. health care system of over $9 million.

The DAS, the National Police and FBI officials found the two after officials verified Clara Guilarte Rodriguez also has U.S. citizenship.

Both had requirememtns for expulsion by DAS because of their status under the Interpol Red Notice which seeks the provisional arrest of a wanted person with a view to extradition based on an arrest warrant or court decision.

According to the report, one of the women worked in a U.S. clinic where she fraudulently reclaimed state medical reimbursements for fake patients.
