Thanks to a disastrous run by South American rivals Argentina, Colombia has now reached third place in the FIFA world rankings heading into the FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

1 Spain 1460
2 Germany 1340
3 Portugal 1245
4 COLOMBIA 1186
5 Uruguay 1181
6 Argentina 1174
7 Brazil 1174
8 Switzerland 1161
9 Italy 1115
10 Greece 1082

Caracol Radio reported Thursday morning that Colombia and Uruguay both benefited from Argentina’s plummet to sixth place.

Colombia’s team occupied third place in the FIFA rankings in July 2013, but fell to fifth after a 2-0 defeat away to Uruguay in September.
