Cepeda wins in Vuelta, Duarte keeps lead

Wilson Cepeda of team Boyacá es para Vivirla won the fourth stage in
the 2009 Vuelta a Colombia, while Fabio Duarte remains in first place
in the general classification.

A group of 15 riders was allowed to take distance from the peloton in this 195km stage from Circasia and Cali, as none of the escapees really formed a threat to the general classification contenders.

At the finish, only three riders were left up front and it was Wilson Cepeda to win the sprint ahead of Víctor González and Jorge Duarte.

Fabio Duarte (Colombia es Pasión-Café de Colombia) and the peloton finished at more than eight minutes but not much changes in the top ten of the overall classification, where Duarte maintains his 2’17” advantage over Javier González.

The Vuelta a Colombia continues on Thursday, with a relatively flat stage from Guacari to Cartago.
