Bus crash leaves 6 dead

Six people were killed and over 20 seriously injured when a truck crashed into a bus, sending it tumbling into a ravine on the road linking Bucaramanga to the Atlantic coast, according to RCN Radio.

According to traffic police, the accident happened when the brakes on the Transpiedecuesta bus failed as it took a corner, sending it smashing into a truck coming in the opposite direction.

Among the dead identified were a 60-year-old grandmother travelling to see her family and a 5-year-old boy.

The crash took place in the early hours of the morning on the section of road between El Playon and San Alberto.
