Colombian authorities say they killed thirteen guerrillas and arrested ten
bodyguards of one of the FARC’s most sought commanders, ‘Mono Jojoy’.
The guerrillas reportedly were captured in the south of Colombia. Authorities say they make up the first ring of security around Jorge ‘Mono Jojoy’ Briceño Suarez, the commander of the FARC’s Eastern Bloc and responsible for the group’s high profile hostages.
The captured guerrillas are said to be the key to locating ‘Mono Jojoy’. According to the Armed Forces, the capture of the ten is a major blow for the Eastern Bloc’s logistics and finance network.
The Armed Forced handed over the ten guerrillas to members of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
