Colombian imports rose 13.9
percent in August to $3.4 billion versus the same month last
year, the government’s statistics department said on Thursday.
Imports in the January-August period rose 22.7 percent to
$25.78 billion compared with the same 2007 period, said a
statement from the department.
The Andean country had an August trade surplus of $109.5
million and a trade surplus of $1.99 billion in the first eight
months of the year, the statement said. (Reuters)
