Caribbean coast crowns candidate for Miss Colombia 2012

22-year-old beauty Yuliana Mejia will be representing the Caribbean coast in the Colombia’s national beauty pageant this November.

The Atlantico department’s candidate for Miss Colombia, is a business administration student and will be training 12 hours a day in preparation for the most important beauty pageant in the country. The chosen beauty queen will officially receive her title from governor Jose Antonio Segebre Friday afternoon.

The Atlantico department posts the greatest number of Miss Colombia winners in the country’s history. Last year’s Miss Atlantico, Mejia’s predecessor, Daniella Alvarez, was named Miss Colombia 2011, making her the tenth candidate from the region to win Miss Colombia since 1949.
