At least 5 die in Pereira traffic accident

At least five people died and four were injured Thursday when a truck crashed into a number of houses and shops in the central Colombian city of Pereira.

According to several media, the brakes of the truck malfunctioned as it was coming down a steep hill in the east of the city.

The truck hit a number of shops and houses before coming to a standstill.

Among the dead victims are two children.

The injured were all taken to hospitals inside the city.
