Argentina defeats Colombia 2-0 in Under-20 World Cup qualifying

Argentina qualified for the Under-20 World Cup by defeating Colombia 2-0 in the final match for both teams in South American qualifying on Saturday.

Fadundo Ferreyra converted a penalty in the 13th minute and Bruno Zucilini scored in the 31st.

Argentina earned one of four places from the tournament for the U20 World Cup this year in Colombia. Uruguay and Brazil were also in.

Colombia finished with one point but qualified automatically as the host.

In late matches, Ecuador faced Chile and Uruguay played Brazil.

In addition to four places in the U20 World Cup, the top two advance to the 2012 London Olympics.

Uruguay has 10 points and was the only team ensured of a place in the Olympics. Brazil had nine going into its match with Uruguay and will take the second Olympic berth unless it loses by five goals or more.

Missing out on the Olympics was a shock for Argentina, which won gold in Athens and Beijing.
