6 killed, 10 injured in southwest Colombia combat with FARC: RCN

Six soldiers were killed and another 10 were injured in Thursday morning battle with the FARC in the southwest of Colombia, RCN Radio reported.

Reports from other media sources said that two soldiers were killed and three were injured in the fight.

The clash occurred when the army engaged in an offensive against a bastion of the FARC’s “Miller Perdomo” mobile column near the town of Jamundi, Valle del Cauca, just miles south of the capital city of Cali.

The Colombian Army has not confirmed the losses.

According to RCN, alerts in all hospitals in Cali were raised to red to receive the wounded soldiers.
