5 killed by landslide in southwest Colombia

Four miners and one foreman were killed in a landslide in southwest Colombia, reported Caracol Radio on Friday.

The five men were killed while working on the construction of pools in the municipality of Iquira.

According to Caracol, the five bodies were discovered after efforts from the fire department of Thessaly.

The police identified the five men as Faiber Perez Alarcón, Jose Gomez, Luis Alberto Hurtado, Nilson Martinez Lasso and Carlos Maldonado.

Caracol reported that four of the victims worked in a gold mine known as La Milagrosa, but were not working inside the mine when the incident occured.
