A landslide in southwest Colombia on Tuesday left four miners dead and another two injured, reported local media.
Heavy rains in the southwest municipality of Buenaventura on Tuesday caused a landslide and the collapse of a local gold mine.
“Four bodies were found, two people survived and there seems to be one more missing,” said a spokesperson from the National Unit of Disaster Risk Management.
Local media identified the victims as Arley Mosquera, Harold Antonio Angulo, Jhonier Mosquera, and Mario Delgado Angulo.
Fellow miners Wiston Antonio Mondragon and Alexander Rodallega Mondragon survived the incident and were transported to a nearby hospital.
Just two months ago, five miners were killed in similar circumstances in the village of Concepcion.
