3 guerrillas, 1 soldier die in south Colombia combat

Three guerrillas and one Colombian soldier died in combat Monday in the southern department of Caqueta.

The deaths occured in a stand-off between Colombian Army troops from the 12th Brigade and alleged FARC members from the 15th Front.

There were also reports of a horse-bomb detonation in the urban area of Union Peneya, within La Montañita.

General Fabricio Cabrera Ortiz, commander of the 12th Brigade, said that this year guerrillas have detonated three horse-bombs in rural zones in the municipalities of San Vincente del Caguan, Cartegena del Chaira, and La Montañita within the department of Caqueta.
