Colombia’s soccer coach Jose Pekerman on Thursday named two new players in a 25-man squad for the World Cup qualifying game with Paraguay on October 12.
Juan Fernando Quintero and Carlos Bacca are both recalled as Colombia goes in search of their third qualifying win on the bounce. Quintero plays for Pescara in Italy while Bacca plies his trade in Belgium for Club Brugge.
Creative midfielder Giovanni Moreno is not called up while midfield general Abel Aguilar and defender Luis Perea both miss out through suspension.
Pekerman’s side faces Paraguay at the Metropolitan Stadium in the coastal city of Barranquilla before they take on Cameroon in a friendly on October 16 in the same city.
