Hertha Berlin said Monday that it has signed Colombia striker Adrian
Ramos on a four-year contract, one of three new arrivals at the club on
the last day before the transfer window closes.
Ramos, 23, joins Hertha from America de Cali of
Colombia. The club hopes he will reinforce an attack that has been
largely impotent as Hertha have slipped to third from bottom in the
Bundesliga, with just one win and three losses from its opening four
games.
Hertha did not disclose the financial details of the deal.
Also joining is 30-year-old Brazilian midfielder
Cesar, who arrives on a free transfer from Al-Ahli of Dubai. He penned
a one-year deal with an option for a two-year extension.
The third new arrival is midfielder Florian
Kringe. The 27-year-old comes to Berlin on a one-year loan from
Bundesliga rival Borussia Dortmund.
“All three are players who will make Hertha better this season,” manager Michael Preetz said.
