AH1N1 death toll in Colombia reaches 91

Colombia has confirmed another nine deaths related to the pandemic swine flu virus.

According to the Ministry for Social Protection in Bogota, up to September 28 there were 1,799 confirmed cases of the infection and 91 people have died throughout the country.

The Ministry also announced that the virus has been detected in 26 regional departments, four districts and 111 municipalities.

Health officials have reiterated the call for adhesion to the preventative measures, emphasizing the need for pregnant women to take particular caution as an alleged 13% of the total number of deaths from the AH1N1 virus in Colombia have been pregnant women in their last  trimester.
