Spanish cruise line Pullmantur will include Colombian coastal city Santa Marta in its travels from October on.
After long negotiations and an analysis to guarantee the peer in Santa Marta can manage the arrival of their vessels, Pullmantur signed a contract with the city of Santa Marta.
“They confirmed us they arrival in Santa Marta from 4 October this year until 12 December 2010 with 38 cruisers in the city. It will cover the route Cartagena – Santa Marta – Aruba – Curazao – Isla Margarita – Cartagenca,” the mayor of Santa Marta, Juan Pablo Diaz Granados Pinedo, told news magazine El Informador.
“This is excellent news for the district and the tourism sector. Although they [passengers] are not going to stay overnight in hotels, I think it is an additional attraction,” the mayor added.
Pullmantur has cruises in the Mediterranean, the Atlantic, the Adria, the Baltic and the Caribbean.
