A student of the University of the Andes in Bogota died Monday as a result of an AH1N1 infection, local media reported. The university announced it will not close doors as a measure to stop a possible outbreak among students.
The 20-year-old woman died in the early morning hours of Monday in the hospital Santa Fe after she apparently was infected with the so-called Swine Flu in London, England where she spent the past few days.
The university said in a statement it would not suspend classes or close the university as “it did not think there is a relevant risk” for other students.
So far, 24 people in Colombia died of the virus.
